Customers don't object to price — they object to lump sum
Every HVAC, plumbing, and electrical operator has lived this scene. The tech finishes the diagnostic, hands the homeowner an estimate for $4,200, and the answer is "let me think about it." Six times out of ten, "let me think about it" means the customer can't write the check today, won't put it on a credit card, and won't tell you that's the real reason. They go to a competitor who quotes $3,800 and offers monthly payments. You lost the job over $400 you didn't have to surrender.
The fix isn't to drop your price. It's to remove the lump-sum objection by offering financing right at the point of decision. Operators who pitch financing on every ticket above their close threshold see average ticket sizes rise 25-40% with no change in close rate — the customer who was going to pay $3,200 picks the $4,800 option because it's $89/month either way.
How POG handles financing
POG ERP integrates with Wisetack as the default financing partner. When you finalize a closeout in the admin path and the total is $500 or more, the modal renders an "Offer Financing" button. Click it and POG generates a Wisetack apply URL prefilled with the customer's name, email, phone, and the exact loan amount. You hand the phone to the customer or text them the link.
The customer applies in under 60 seconds. Wisetack runs a soft credit check (no impact on score), returns a decision, and presents the customer with monthly payment options. If they accept, Wisetack funds the loan and pays you the full amount within 1-2 business days. The customer pays Wisetack, not you. No collections risk. No payment processing on your books for the financing portion.
POG records the offer in a financing_offers table tied to the receipt and the customer. When Wisetack publishes the loan-funded webhook, POG updates the offer status to funded automatically — you can see the conversion rate of offered-vs-funded in your dashboard without exporting anything.
What's included
- Per-tenant configuration — set your Wisetack merchant ID, financing threshold (default $500), and partner status in Settings.
- Closeout modal CTA — "Offer Financing" button appears automatically above the threshold.
- Pre-filled apply URL — customer name, phone, email, and loan amount populate Wisetack's form. They tap through, not type through.
- Webhook integration — loan.funded / loan.declined / loan.cancelled events update the financing_offers row in real time.
- Audit trail — every offer creation and status update logged with user + IP + timestamp.
- Quote integration — v2 will surface the same financing button on the public quote portal so customers see "Or finance this" alongside the GBB tier picker.
How it compares
ServiceTitan integrates with multiple financing partners (Wisetack, GreenSky, Service Finance) but only on the Pro tier ($350+/mo). Jobber treats financing as a third-party add-on you configure outside the closeout flow. Housecall Pro has financing on higher tiers but lacks the webhook-driven status updates — you can offer the link but can't see whether it converted without logging into your financing partner's portal separately.
POG ERP includes the closeout-CTA + webhook integration on the $49/month starter plan. You bring your own Wisetack merchant agreement (free to apply); POG handles the integration plumbing.
"If your average ticket size on $500+ jobs doesn't increase within the first 60 days of using POG financing, we refund your setup fee in full."
